Webinars Date: December 8, 2020
One of the themes that emerged at the CoP meeting was the changed nature of student interactions. Online classrooms are, for many students, the main point of contact within their campus. Student support staff and faculty alike are asking what steps should be taken within the classroom to support student mental health. The Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health recently launched a new toolkit to address this question, called “Mental Health and the learning environment.” To support the application of the toolkit, they hosted a webinar called Supporting faculty to create a healthy and engaging learning environment.
This conversation was highly relevant to the Alberta context, and we provided an opportunity for the HCA community to engage in a discussion: Which parts of this toolkit/the webinar discussion resonated with you? What are the Alberta resources related to mental health and the learning environment that have been helpful to you? What are you doing in collaboration with faculty on your campus to support student mental health? Watch the recording of the CICMH webinar and explore the resources below!
