One of the themes that emerged at the CoP meeting was the changed nature of student interactions. With the online classroom being, for many students, the main point of contact with their campus, student support staff and faculty alike are asking what steps should be taken within the classroom to support student mental health. The Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health recently launched a new toolkit to address this question, called “Mental Health and the learning environment.” To support the application of the toolkit, they are hosting a webinar called Supporting faculty to create a healthy and engaging learning environment on December 8th from 11am-12pm MST.
Knowing that this conversation is also highly relevant to the Alberta context, we wanted to provide an opportunity for the HCA community to engage in a discussion: Which parts of this toolkit/the webinar discussion resonated with you? What are the Alberta resources related to mental health and the learning environment that have been helpful to you? What are you doing in collaboration with faculty on your campus to support student mental health? Join us from 2-2:45pm on December 8th for a community discussion by registering below.
Please note that registration for the HCA community discussion is separate from the CICMH webinar registration. You are welcome to join us for either or both of these events.
Please use your HCA login account in order to register for this webinar. If you’ve participated in the Community Hub, then you login credentials will work here as well.
