Hosted by Healthy Campus Saskatchewan
April 28, 2021, 11:30 am – 1:00 pm MT/CT (10:30 am – 12:00 pm PT)
One way to ensure that peer outreach programs on post-secondary campuses are effective is to design and deliver them with a Motivational Interviewing (MI) approach in mind. MI is a communication approach that supports people to consider change. Join us to explore the efficacy of MI in alcohol harm reduction and how MI can be included in peer outreach projects. We will feature a few Saskatchewan students who will describe peer outreach projects they have been involved in, and together, we will explore MI in peer-to-peer work.
- Dr. Peter Butt, BA, MD, CCFP, FCFP, Associate Professor Academic Family Medicine, University of Saskatchewan
- Bev Drew, BASc, MSc, member of Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT)
- Student Panelists
