The 2026 HCA Wellness Summit took place in person over 2 days, May 21st & 22nd at Concordia University of Edmonton.
The theme of this year’s Summit was Wayfinding: Together in Wellness, affirming that although the landscape continues to shift and new challenges emerge, our Community of Practice can co-create pathways that are sustainable, compassionate, and responsive to the realities of our post-secondary communities. 21 campuses across Alberta, and 11 different organizations including government, healthcare, and community agencies came together sharing ways to reduce stigma, strengthen connection, and address challenges affecting campus mental health and well-being across the province.

This year’s Summit opened and closed in a good way with ceremony and heartfelt teachings from Elder Tom Snow, respected Nakoda Stoney Knowledge Keeper. Over the two days, a total of four concurrent sessions containing 20 unique presentations were offered covering the following themes: Meeting People Where They Are, Mapping a Sustainable Path, Responding to Changing Landscapes, Orienting to Well-being through Coping, Connection & Recovery.
The new Mighty Networks HCA Community Hub was also launched during Summit. A collaboration session, introducing the CoP to the new hub, created space for community members to share their vision for the hub and ways it could be utilized. The event also featured an impactful keynote presentation from Dr. Carol Hopkins, Chief Executive Officer of the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation. On the last day, a Keynote Panel: Pass the Mic: A Student-Led Approach to Engagement heard University of Alberta Students share diverse student perspectives. A Wellness Room, hosted by Concordia, was also available at Summit, offering a quiet space for attendees to decompress.
