Shared by Boyle Street Community Services
The CHEW Project (Community, Health, Empowerment & Wellness), a drop-in for Queer youth aged 29 and under established under the Fyrefly Institute at the University of Alberta in 2014, is now partnered with Boyle Street Community Services and YESS. CHEW provides a safe and supportive environment for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and emerging adults facing barriers such as mental health challenges, poverty, houselessness, substance use, oppression, and more.
CHEW’s inclusive OUTpost at 7103 105 Street (The Community League Building next to Strathcona High) offers a variety of services, including harm reduction, basic needs support such as food baskets, hygiene supplies, community referrals, and a welcoming drop-in space. CHEW is open Monday-Friday from 12PM-5PM.
