Join Lisa Teigen, Healthy Campus Alberta, and Recovery on Campus to learn more about Unplugging With Purpose: a two-day, province-wide digital detox taking place across Alberta campuses during National Addictions Awareness Week!

Lisa will share ideas and insights from The King’s University’s own Unplugging With Purpose events, including approaches for engaging students and creating meaningful opportunities to step away from screens. Then, participants will take part in an interactive idea-sharing and Q&A session. Bring your questions, activities, resources, and ideas as we explore how campuses across Alberta can make the province-wide event engaging, accessible, and impactful for students.

Speakers

Chelsie Graham

BSW, RSW, Manager of the University of Calgary Recovery Community (UCRC) and Recovery on Campus (ROC).

Chelsie joined ROC in 2022 as a coordinator and stepped into her current leadership role in 2024. In 2025, she received the Collegiate Recovery Program Staff of the Year award from the Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) in recognition of her leadership in expanding recovery-oriented supports, strengthening cross-campus partnerships, and advancing recovery-friendly initiatives across Alberta. This includes supporting the signing of four recovery-friendly campus pledges and helping secure a $3 million provincial grant to expand Recovery on Campus through 2028. Chelsie lives in Airdrie on Treaty 7 territory with her partner and their two dogs, and enjoys reading and gaming in her spare time.

Lisa Teigen

The King's University, Accessibility and Wellness Coordinator

Lisa Teigen (she/her) is passionate about supporting students through her roles working with accessibility services and wellness at The King’s University.  She has been a part of the Student Life and Learning Department for over 10 years.  Lisa enjoys living, working, worshipping, and playing in Treaty Six territory.  She loves reading, taking walks in the Millcreek Ravine, spending time with family, and enjoying Edmonton’s short summers as much as she can. She is excited to chat with others from Healthy Campus Alberta about helping students “unplug” and thrive.
