Skills for Safer Living (SfSL)

Shared by CMHA Alberta and Centre for Suicide Prevention

SfSL is a four-week psycho-educational group for youth aged 12-24 who have past or current experiences of suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts. SfSL aims to help participants build basic language, skills, and concepts to better understand thoughts about suicide while learning strategies to mitigate them and stay as safe as possible. A separate, concurrent group is available for the youth’s parents or caregiver(s) to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to help support their youth.

Skills for Safer Living is being offered in partnership with Program Delivery Partners in Calgary, Edmonton, Medicine Hat, and Grande Prairie.
